Galerie Vaňkovka je největší brněnskou galerií. Bohužel však ne uměleckou, ale obchodní. Přesto všechno sama sebe nazývá galerií a tak jsem si dovolil k ní tak přistupovat. Uspořádal jsem v ní komentovanou prohlídku její stálé expozice. Této prohlídky se zůčastnilo kolem 40 návštevníků a společně jsme prošli 9 obchodů, které byly návštevnictvu představeny jako instalece od různých autorů.
V instalaci C&A byl popisován konzervativní přístup v binárním rozdělení prostoru a notorický strach z barev, který v maskulinním sektoru panuje. U Samsungu se pojednává o tom, jestli lidé vládnou technologiím, či technologie lidem. Sparkys řešil problematiku oddělení „pro holky“ a toho, co to vlastně znamená. Mezi představenými instalacemi nechyběl ani Baťa, CCC, Butelrs, a další.

The Exhibition of Global Materialism
Vaňkovka Gallery is the largest gallery in Brno. Unfortunately, it's not an art gallery, but a shopping mall. Despite this, it calls itself a gallery, so I decided to approach it as such. I organized a guided tour of its permanent exhibition. Around 40 visitors participated in the tour, and together we explored 9 stores, which were presented to the audience as installations by various authors.
At the C&A installation, we discussed the conservative approach to binary spatial division and the notorious fear of color that dominates the masculine sector. The Samsung installation addressed the question of whether people control technology or technology controls people. At Sparkys, we tackled the issue of the "for girls" section and what that concept really means. Other featured installations included Baťa, CCC, Butlers, and more.
